Bratpack's 10K project

Bratpack is playing a game later today which they call the 10K project. The 10K stands for the P10,000 worth of Bratpack shopping spree that one lucky pair of winner will be taking home. If your eying for that prize, you just have to show up with your partner and a camera at Bratpack Eastwood CityWalk 2 today, October 20, 2010 by 5PM for registration. You then need to find 3 markers spread out around the mall and probably take a picture of it. I can't find the complete mechanics so I don't have a clear idea on how it will all play out.

Electrolux Wash-A-Palooza Race

Labels:

Jonel (letsgosago.net) invited me, Jeff Aspacio (aspacio.net) and Jason Biadog (techmotorsports.blogspot.com) to be part of the Wash-A-Palooza race of Electrolux. We were one of the 20 teams that raced around Eastwood City to complete a variety of challenges that celebrated the newest product lines of Electrolux washers and dryers. Who's team will reign supreme? Read on to find out.

If you plan to buy some appliance, there's also an Electrolux Bodega Sale. Details at the end of this post.

We couldn't come up with a better name for our team so we went with Jonel's suggestion - Team Jacob! If you noticed, all of our names starts with the letter "J"

It was a fun filled frenzied race. There was the Wash-A-Palooza jigsaw puzzle, zipline, tossing of clothes inside the washer, and many more. The most difficult part was the question and answer portion of the race. It took us quite a while to research the different models/types of Electrolux products. It was so difficult that we even incurred a 15 minute penalty for making 3 mistakes. It was a good thing we were leading the pack. After the 15 minutes time penalty was over, we sprinted to get the 4 flags spread across Eastwood and finally to the finish line.

We won the race!

It was an exhausting 2 hour race but i was a great feeling finishing first with my blogger friends. We won P15,000 worth of Sodexho GC and a medal. Everybody also emerged as winners as we all took home a choice of an Electrolux Pop-up toaster, Steam Iron, Rice Cooker or Coffee Maker. I chose to take home the Rice Cooker

Starbucks Treat?

Labels:

Here's another misleading promotion. Starbucks recently posted an offer to fans for reaching 400,000 likes. It writes that Starbucks will be "treating you all to a Crème Brulee Macchiato (hot or iced) and we'll treat you to a second Crème Brulee Macchiato" First impression - Awesome! However upon further investigation, it seems that you need to buy the first Crème Brulee Macchiato to get the second one. From where I come from, the word "treating" is synonymous with FREE right? Anyway, if you still want to avail of this promo, you just need to say "I am a Starbucks Philippines Facebook Fan" to the barista from October 26 - 28, 2010. Crème Brulee Frappuccino Blended Coffee is not included in this offer and it also failed to indicate if you can get the same size for the extra drink.

TARA Viewing at Legazpi City

Labels:

Did you get to watch the Amazing Race Asia last Thursday? Azrael and I was fortunate enough to be part of the viewing party of The Amazing Race Asia (TARA) Season 4 Legazpi City leg with Philippine team members Lani Pillinger, Richard Hardin, and Richard Herrera. Legazpeños was excited to see their beautiful city and its culture be showcased in a major TV reality program. To close the event with a bang, Ely Buendia also performed live on stage.

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs006.snc4/33667_152200454821692_100000952164331_238898_3097411_n.jpg

The Amazing Race viewing party was held at Embarcadero de Legazpi (Az and I had difficulty remembering the name of the place). The activity center was surrounded with the ever so recognizable Amazing Race flag with yellow and red vertical stripes. A large projector screen was also put up to give everyone a clear line of sight for the exciting program.

Rovilson Fernandez and Kat Alano hosted the event. If you're an avid follower of the Amazing Race Asia (TARA), you would know that Rovilson represented team Philippines in the Season 2 of the TARA with partner Marc Nelson. They came in 3rd following the Singapore and Malaysian teams.

Everyone was constantly looking at their timepieces in anticipation of the 9PM broadcast of the TARA episode 5 on AXN. Finally, the episode was aired and everybody was glued to their seats. Laughter and excitement filled the air while the audience watched the participants of TARA go through a series of tasks a Legazpeño would have easily completed.

The Malaysian team arrived on the finish mat at Misibis bay (I'll be making a feature on this) first followed by the Philippine team Richard Hardin and Richard Herrera. They were actually neck-to-neck for the last task which was a game of chance. Unfortunately, luck was not on their side. Team Philippines, Jess & Lani, came in 5th.

After the episode, the Philippine team of TARA went up the stage to be recognized. Richard Hardin and Richard Herrera told the audience of how committed they were of making Philippines proud by being the winner for TARA. Will they be living up to their promise? Only one way to find out. Stay tuned to TARA Season 4 every Thursday night 9PM at AXN.

Amazing Race Misibis Pit Stop

Labels:

I'm so excited to go to Misibis Bay Resort later with my fellow blogger Azrael of azraelsmerryland.blogspot.com. Not only will we get to stay in one of the luxurious resorts everyone has been raving about but there are also plenty of awesome activities lined up for us. Tune your TV sets to AXN later tonight, October 21, 2010 (Thursday) at 9PM, to see how beautiful the Bicolandia region is as the Amazing Race Asia makes it's 5th pit stop in Misibis Bay Resort.

"This episode promises lots of laughter and wacky moments that will have viewers in stitches, as motormouths and madcap personalities dominate the Race.

"For the first time ever, The Amazing Race Asia will showcase its most expensive production yet as Legazpi City and Misibis Bay Resorts plays host in a bid to show the world how beautiful the Bicolandia region is. Viewers will see the detours and challenges shot in picturesque locations such as Lignon Hill, Cagsawa Ruins, Cagraray Island and the Misibis Bay Resorts."

Who will emerge victorious in this leg of the race? Stay tuned with me later tonight!

Rob. Dept Store Warehouse Sale

Labels:

I got to check out Robinsons Department Store Warehouse Sale at Robinsons Galleria yesterday afternoon. If it wasn't for the poster that mentioned the location of the sale which was at the 4th Level in between Timezone & Jamaican Patties, I would have probably missed it. That location isn't really where people generally pass though when they go around the mall. The sale runs from October 15 - November 8, 2010.

The poster indicated that there would be brands like Nike, Adidas, Vans, Sketchers, Wrangler, Dickies, Ray-ban, Gingersnaps, OshKosh B'gosh, Echolac, Wenger, Elle, Slazenger, Triumph, Jockey, Hanabishi & American Home. Right now, there were about one third of the brands on display. Robinsons, however, will be rotating the brands on sale weekly to make it exciting for shoppers.

There were a lot of shades, adidas apparel, beddings and a few appliance on sale. But what caught my eye was the 70% off sale on underwear. I needed new athletic undergarments for my new health regimen.

After a long and serious deliberation with the saleslady, I ended up buying 4 pairs of briefs that had a buy-3-take-1 offer for P229.75 each. Well yes it wasn't a 70% off but at least I was able to buy what I needed.

Mel was able to buy some undergarments at a better discount than mine. Girls were always the better shopper.
