8 Filipina Writing Contest
Join eight artists and eight UP researchers as they honor eight Filipina environmentalists for their advocacy to help Mother Earth through artworks. College students are invited to view the Walong Filipina Exhibit and participate in the 8 Filipina Writing Contest. Create an essay about how the featured environmentalists and artists informed and inspired you to take action, do something for the environment. Prizes at stake are P10K, P5K, and P1K for the 5 special citations respectively.Contest Requirements:
- Open to all individual college undergraduate students
- View the Walong Filipina Exhibit at the Small Gallery of the Cultural Center of the Philippines from October 14 to November 28 for FREE. (Come on October 14 for a forum from 2:30PM - 5:30PM at the CCP MKP Multi-Purpose Hall and cocktails at 6PM)
- Get an application form at the following locations
- CCP Visual Arts and Museo Division at the 4th Floor
- Liongoren Gallery (111 New York Street, Cubao, QC)
- UP Art Studies Department (2nd Floor, Faculty Center, UP Diliman, QC)

- Theme: "What did this exhibit say, and how did the featured environmentalists and artists inform and inspire me to take action, do something for the environment?"
- Essay Guidelines
- Must be in English
- Not more than 1,500 words
- Arial 12pt, double-space, and printed on letter-size paper (8½ by 11 inches) or A4 paper
- Essays must be written individually
- Submit the essay in a short folder together with the application form and proof of enrollment. The folder should be labeled with your name and school.
- Submit entry at CCP VAMD, 4th Floor, Cultural Center of the Philippines from Tuesdays to Fridays 9AM -6PM
- Judging Criteria
- 70% Substance, originality, analysis
- 15% Development and coherence
- 15% Style and presentation

Contest Prize:
- 1st Prize - P10,000 + Certificate of Merit for the Student
- 2nd Prize - P5,000 +Certificate of Merit for the Student
- Five (5) Special Citations - P1,000 EACH
