Alab: The Independent Musician Rising Awards

Calling all independent musicians! Let your voice be heard and start submitting your entries in the Alab: The Independent Musician Rising Awards. This latest competition from Carat Philippines aims to encourage budding artists, particularly in the genres of rock, pop, and hiphop/rnb, to show your talent and be an advocate of Original Pinoy Music. All you have to do is record a clip of your performance at a gig, a music video, or a home-recorded performance. Upload it upon registration via the contest website. You can only submit one (1) track regardless of genre. Alab will only consider the last track submitted. Wait for your entry to be approved and uploaded on the contest site gallery then encourage your friends to vote for your video. The selected Top artist per genre will be toured on different touchpoints, and groomed for one whole month. The Grand Finals winner will be awarded with P300,000 CASH while the Top artist per genre will each receive P20,000. Aside from the money, all winners will each get a Talent contract and management + Recording label and production + Artist grooming and exposure + Spot in Fusion 2017.

Contest Requirements:
  • All locally or globally unsigned Filipino musicians regardless of age. Entrants who are below 18 years old must present a written consent from a parent or guardian

#PiattosTime Video Challenge

Prep, post and paste your best entry in the #PiattosTime Video Challenge. Create a 15-30 second video showing how you level up your Piattos time. Upload your clip on your FB, Twitter and/or IG account with a short description and official hashtag #PiattosTime. Don't forget to challenge your friends to a level up showdown by tagging three (3) of them. Choose a maximum of two (2) videos to serve as your official entry/entries. To submit entry, copy the social media link of your video and paste it in the online registration form. Three (3) very lucky Grand Prize winners will each receive a Southeast Asian Trip for two (choice of either Bali, Bangkok or Hong Kong) inclusive of plane fare and accommodations for 3 nights only worth P50,000 and an inclusion in the #PiattosTime Video Challenge digital commercial at the end of the promo. On the other hand, eighteen (18) Minor Prize winners will each be given a GoPro kit which will be announced every two weeks.

The Amazing Race Asia Season 5

The heart-pumping and adrenalin-rushing race is back! Take part in Asia's biggest adventure in The Amazing Race Asia Season 5. Choose your best teammate and start submitting your application form and audition video online. If you can't submit online, you may opt to send your entries via Drop Off wherein you'll have to bring a completely filled out application form and your recorded audition video. Or you can also head on to the available Video Booths to complete an application and record a three (3) minute video onsite. Chosen teams will be flown from your local airports to an unknown destination somewhere in the world and will be allowed to bring a limited number of items needed for the competition. Race hard, race safe and race fast for a chance to bag the Grand Prize worth US$100,000. Teams may also have the chance to win non-cash prizes over and above the grand prize. Aside from that, there will be prizes as well to teams who will win a certain challenge or those who will arrive first on selected pit stops.

You must must be able to travel for long periods of time, must be adaptable to various living and travelling situations and must enjoy living and travelling in close proximity with others of varied age, sex, race, background, and experience.
  4. You can send in multiple entries, so long as each entry is with a different partner
  5. If you select the drop off submission/video booth submission option, do not also apply online
  6. All decisions regarding the program are final
  7. Your team will have to bear travel costs for the preliminary application round. Only travel costs for the semi-final/final interview (if you do not reside within the interview city) and during the actual race will be borne by the producers
  8. All traveling visas will be arranged and paid for by the show producers
  9. The video will be retained by, and will become the property of, the Producers (as defined below), regardless of whether or not you are selected as a participant

2016 Pinoy K-pop Star

Missed your chance in last year's competition? The long wait is over! Showcase your exceptional talent in performing like your favorite K-pop icon and submit your entries for the 2016 Pinoy K-pop Star. There are two (2) available categories to join to: Vocal and Performance Category. For the Vocal Category, you may opt to perform solo, duo or with a group. You can also choose to have back-up dancers if you like, especially if you are singing an upbeat dance song. Record yourself singing a live K-pop song and upload it on YouTube with the title, "2016 PINOY K-POP STAR - Singing Category Entry – NAME". For the Performance Category, form a group of as much members (or less) as the group you are copying. Pre-record your song using instrumental with backing vocals and lip-sync to your own voices while performing the dance. Upload your video on YouTube with the title, "2016 PINOY K-POP STAR - Performance Category Entry – NAME". Send the video link, along with the application requirements via email. The Grand Finalists in both categories will each win a trip to Changwon, South Korea to represent the Philippines in the 1st Round of Semi-Finals of the 2016 K-pop World Festival. Along with trophies and gift packs, cash prizes worth P30,000, P20,000, and P10,000 will also be awarded respectively to the winners.

  • Note: 17 years old and below can also join provided:
    • You must travel to Korea with your parent/s or if traveling with a guardian, must secure the necessary documents
    • Your parent/s or guardian must secure their own travel visa to Korea and will have to shoulder their own travel and accommodation costs during the competition. KCC will not be able to provide assistance to your companions.

      • You can have fewer members but you cannot have more members than that of the original artist whose song you will perform
      • You may choose to have back-up dancers or not. However, should you decide to have back-up dancers, the number of back-up dancers per performer/team will only be limited to (2) two members. It is recommended to have back-up dancers especially if you are singing upbeat dance songs
    • Performance Category
      • Open to groups only
      • Team must be composed of as much members (or less) as the group you are copying.
      • The original or the current line-up should be followed regarding groups that have re-structured their member line-up

      • High resolution creative shot of yourself/your group
      • Copy of valid ID or passport
      • Song choice must be relatively new, preferably released in 2015-2016. It must be one full song track. No remixes allowed
      • You must sing live using instrumental audio without backing vocals
      • Recorded video file of live performance
      • The video doesn’t have a time limit however, the total time of performance must be at least three (3) minutes but not more than five (5) minutes
      • Video must be taken with a front, center view. The whole route of the choreography should be seen in the video
      • Video must include a tight, full shot of you
      • Video must have good lighting, enough to see you
      • Video must not be recorded with different angles or with special effects
      • The submitted video must be the same song that you will perform during the competition. Minor changes to the song can be made as additional intro or putting in a dance break in the song
      • Use of props will be allowed as long as it will not cause any delay in the program and any harm to the performance of other groups
    • Performance Category

    Greenwich #UltimateBandkada Search Season 2

    Start forming your group and prepare to send in your entries to Greenwich's #UltimateBandkada Search Season 2. Team up a band of 3 members who are all well versed on different genres specifically Rock, Pop, Hip Hop, Reggae or EDM. There are two ways to audition. If you want to submit online, log on to the #UltimateBandkada website, register and upload your 1-minute video performance of a song that incorporates two (2) or more musical genres. Or you may choose to perform live by going to the participating venues on the audition dates. From the pool of submitted entries, only eight (8) Bandkada finalists will be selected and will perform their original composition in the Grand Finale Concert Event in front of judges and experts. There will also be a voting period for your favorite Bandkada. The #UltimateBandkada will receive P100,000 + Management and Recording Contract. The 2nd and 3rd Placers will be awarded with P60,000 and P40,000 respectively. A special "Favorite ng Barkada Award" that gathered the most number of votes will take home P10,000.

        • 25% Music Mash-Up - The way in which a band has seamlessly and beautifully blended together at least two different music genres to create an entertaining sound

        • 30% Genre Mash-Up - Incorporating at least two (2) more different genres to create an original music
        • 20% Originality - Song uses original beats and melodies
        • 20% Audience Impact - Crowd reaction during and after band's performance
        • 15% Chemistry - Shows a harmonious relationship and interaction between band members as they play on stage
        • 15% Stage Presence - Impressive appearance and performance
    3. Eight (8) Bankada finalists will be selected from the pool of submitted entries who will perform at the culminating event at Valkyrie Club, UpTown BGC, Taguig City
      • Each band will be notified via call or email
      • You must create an original Greenwich theme song that contains elements from at least two (2) different genres you used for audition
      • All Top 8 Bandkada finalists will perform your original composition in the Grand Finale Concert Event in front of judges and experts
      • The Top 3 Bandkada Finalists will be determined by the judges' score and online voting

      • Click the vote button of the selected bandkada
      • You may only vote one (1) bandkada per day. You can repeat the process the day after

      Cebu Pacific Juan for Fun Backpacker Challenge 2016

      Missed your chance in last year's challenge? Try your luck this time for an epic adventure for FREE in Cebu Pacific's Juan for Fun Backpacker Challenge 2016. Form a team of three (3) student (or recently graduated) members. Take the quiz on the contest website. Application form can be filled out at the end of the quiz. Upload a 30-60 second audition video featuring all the members of your team. Answer as creatively as possible the question: "What will a One-Year Travel-All-You-Can Pass mean to you?". Upload your video on YouTube or other video sharing sites then paste the link on the application form. You will receive a confirmation email that your application has been received. From all the entries submitted, only five (5) teams will continue on to the Challenge Proper wherein you will go to various Cebu Pacific destinations and complete a list of activities. The Challenge is to have the most number of fun activities within the duration of the trip with the given travel allowance. Examples of activities: visiting museums, theme parks, churches, and other tourists spots, trying the local delicacies and other fun activities the destination offers
          • You are FREE to choose the activities so long as they are within the safety limits prescribed by Cebu Pacific and its Organizers
          • Each team must maximize and use up all of their travel allowance
          • Special Fun Challenges are also set up in each destination for your team to accomplish in order to earn extra points. Scores from the Special Fun Challenge will be factored into the total scores to determine the final winners

      Wrangler Search For True Wanderers

      Adventure is calling all travelers in Wrangler's Search For True Wanderers contest. In partnership with the Department of Tourism, Wrangler is looking for motorcycle riders fueled by passion to explore our country's hidden gems. To join, log on to Wrangler contest website and register. Select only one (1) of five (5) pre-determined passions: Adventure, Food, Photography, Backpacking or Nature. In 250 words or less, explain what drives your passion to explore the open road. Include a photo of you and your motorbike. All submitted entries will be shortlisted to fifty (50) to answer a questionnaire. From there, a panel of biking experts and travel enthusiasts will screen the answers and select ten (10) finalists. These finalists will undergo a five (5)-day motorcycle ride in a pre-selected city in the country chosen by Wrangler and the Department of Tourism.       World Water Day 2016 "Water and Jobs" 60-second Video Contest

      In celebration of World Water Day, the Environmental Management Bureau of the Department (EMB) of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is calling all college students to join the "Water and Jobs" 60-second Video Contest. The aim of the competition is to give recognition to the men and women in our own communities whose work centers on different sustainable water strategies. Record a 60-second creative video highlighting the water sustainability heroes" in your area. Like and upload your entry at the National Search For Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Schools FB page. Don't forget to include a short paragraph describing your entry. Aside from that, you must also enclose the original and duplicate copy of your video (in DVD) plus a photocopy of your school ID in a short brown envelope.       Juanderlust Be The Chosen Juan

        • All Finalists are required to attend the scheduled events in Manila which require an overnight stay
        • You will be asked to create a digital journal on your personal Instagram accounts throughout the 60-day fitness challenge
      5. Entry Guidelines for Digital Journal
        • Create your own digital journal and uploaded on your personal Instagram account. Your account must be set to public
        • Use your designated personal hashtag #SuperShapeName (Example: #SuperShapeMich) and the official #SuperShapeMe hashtag in all your posts. You may also use #FREEGOjeans and tag @freegojeans
        • You are encouraged to post in your Digital Journal in real-time, except for requirements that handle compilation i.e. the Daily Food Collage
        • The Digital Journal will comprise of the following:
          • Daily Food Collage - A daily photo collage summarizing all the meals and snacks that you consumed
            • You must post a creative daily collage of all the meals and snacks you eat everyday
            • You may use photo editing or photo collage apps to put together the individual photos
            • You must put the day and date on the caption where the meals were taken
            • Describe your meals for the day on the caption section
            • You will be given until after 24 hours to post the collage
          • Post-Workout Photo - A photo after every workout
            • After every exercise or fitness activity, you must take a photo of yourselves and upload it to your Instagram
            • Photo must at least capture the top of your head to your knees
            • Describe the just-finished workout, as well as how you feel or what you learned
          • Note: Aside from the Digital Journal, you may post any additional or real-time updates relevant to your journey in the Fitness Challenge in your accounts, including but not limited to: fitspirational quotes, photos taken group sessions and workouts with co-participants and/or mentors, temptations or challenges, OOTDs, etc.
      6. Video Confession
        • You must submit a video confession of yourself three times throughout the competition, before the group sessions and workouts
        • Video must show you answering the guide questions for the week
        • Videos should be in mp4 format, minimum of one minute and maximum of five (5) minutes
      7. Judging Criteria
        • 50% Total weight loss (fat percentage, weight and waistline)
        • 40% Overall performance (assessed by distinguished judges)
        • 10% Online Voting - Based on the total number of likes on your profile photo in the fitness challenge photo album
