Zooming in on Biodiversity

Attention all nature photographer aficionados. Join the 1st ASEAN-wide photo contest of biodiversity entitled Zooming in on Biodiversity. Submit your stunning photos that are related to biodiversity and you could go home with US$ CASH prizes and an all expense Trip to Singapore for the awarding ceremony. Professionals, Amateurs and Students(18-25) are welcomed to join this contest.



Contest Requirements:

• Open to all residents of ASEAN Member State
  
• Open to all Professional, Amateur and Students
• Professional Category – Professional photographers who derive income from the sale of photographs or provision of photographic services
• Amateur Category – Amateur photographers
  
• Student category –High school and college/university students (must be 18 to 25 years old)

Contest Mechanics:

1. Capture various images related to biodiversity (plants, animals, marine life, ASEAN Heritage Parks)
   
• Photos that show benefits that biodiversity brings to human beings, its importance, the threats biodiversity face (deforestation, Climate change), or how biodiversity affects lives.
  
• Photos showing initiatives to protect biodiversity resources such as plants, animals, and marine Species are also welcome
• Biodiversity as source of food (food and agriculture)
• Biodiversity as source of medicine (health and medicine)
• Biodiversity as source of shelter
• Biodiversity and climate change
• Aesthetic value of biodiversity
• Biodiversity as source of livelihood
• Biodiversity and ecotourism
2. Photo Guidelines
• ONLY color photos are allowed
• Pictures may be taken from digital or non-digital cameras
  
• JPEG format
  
• Minimum resolution of six megapixels (6MB) or a screen resolution of 3000 x 2000 pixels
• Digitally altered images will be disqualified
• Traditional or standard photo enhancing must be limited to only photo resizing
3. Submission Guidelines
• Write your Name, Title of Photo, Number of Photo entry (i.e. charmlee_thegrasshopper1.jpeg) and send

• Attach .jpeg photos in the email (e-mail should contain 1 photo entry ONLY)
  
• Subject line should be "Photo Contest"

• "By joining the photo contest, the photographers grant ACB the non-exclusive right to publish, use, distribute, reproduce and publicly display their photo entries, and to create derivative works from such photographs, in perpetuity, in any of ACB’s on-line, print or other media publications, materials or exhibitions, for purposes of advocating biodiversity Conservation and promoting ACB’s programmes, including, but not limited to, for editorial, advertising, publicity, and fundraising purposes, without payment of compensation unless prohibited by law."
