YouTube Your Film Festival
YouTube is in search for the world's best storyteller. Join the Your Film Festival contest and be a YouTube sensation. Simply submit a 15-minute original video which celebrates the power of storytelling with a focus on creativity and narrative. Upload it on your YouTube account and be chosen as the potential semi-finalist. Encourage everyone around the world to vote for your entry via your YouTube website community for a chance to win $500,000 USD production grant and access to Production Company in order to create a new short film or series intended for online distribution. Finalists will also receive a 6-day/5-night trip to Venice, Italy for the screening of the Finalist's Entry at the 2012 Venice Film Festival.
Contest Requirements:
- Open to registered users of the YouTube website, 18 years old at the time of joining
Contest Mechanics:
- Log on to YouTube Your Film Festival channel
- Submit an original video which celebrates the power of storytelling with a focus on creativity and narrative
- Entry Guidelines
- Original, newly-created Entries, or original, previously-created Entries which have not been distributed to the public prior to January 1, 2010
- Maximum of fifteen (15) minutes, including any titles and/or credits
- Chosen finalists must be prepared to submit a development concept for the Winner's Project (each a "Concept") which is intended to be used as an additional criterion in the judging process by the Festival Jury in order to determine the Grand Prize Winner
- Entries may be submitted in one of the eleven (11) approved languages
- Upload the video on your YouTube account formatted and encoded in accordance to YouTube's requirements
- Top ten (10) entries per geographic region will be designated as "Potential Semi-finalists"
- Additional ten (10) entries per geographic region will be designated as "Potential Alternate Semi-finalists"
- Your entries must have the YouTube embedding functionality turned "on"
- Do not disable monetization of your entry
- Entries of the semi-finalists will be publicly displayed on the competition channel and other platforms
- Encourage everyone to vote for your entry via your YouTube website community
