Alright, this is my 2nd blogger event which is of course, once again, is about food, FREE food that is. Chowking and Yehey treated us bloggers to a Chow Fan (fried rice) buffet. Even took some home for my midnight snack! hehe



Who says Philippine is suffering from rice shortage? With Chowking's Chao Fan, you can eat a hearty bowl of fried rice, veggies and meat included (balanced meal? hehe). Prices start at P39.

I tried to taste all kinds of Chowking Chao Fan and I must say, it wasn't bad at all.


Baboy ba ng plate ko? Had to rush through the buffet table because of the long line behind me. Took a spoonfull of each kind of Chao Fan and a couple of Siomai and Lumpia as my ulam. All the Chao Fan was OK but what stood out from the rest was the Spicy Chao Fan. It was a bit spicy like the Vcut potato chips but if you want to make it spicier, you can request for it at no extra cost! I went back for a 2nd serving hehe

Chowking gave us bloggers a pen, keychain and a couple of Gift Certificates. Thank you Chowking and Yehey for the merienda/dinner treat!

Cheapest Resto Bill

This is one of the Cheapest Bill I ever had in a fine dining restaurant, namely Italianni's. My uncle, GF and myself had a heavy lunch for only P648.13! If your thinking that we stuffed ourselves with the FREE focaccia bread, just check out the image bellow.



A few days ago, my GF craved for pasta so I suggested we go to Italianni's Greenhills for lunch. My uncle from US came with us too. We ordered a Diablo pasta, a Wagyu and Salmon, and the Venetian Tower which comprised of Garlic Tuscan Toasts, Baked Mussels, and Italianni's Chopped Salad to share. Because I had the BPI coupon for Italianni's at hand, the Venetian Tower was FREE since the total bill was already over P1,500 for the Wagyu and Pasta. Sulit right?

It was a good thing that all of us didn't have breakfast early that morning because our food was almost doubled! Wondering how? Here is how it happened. We started eating as soon as the Venetian Tower and Diablo Pasta was served. I could already feel that my pants was starting to tighten when the Wagyu and Salmon came out (did it look good!). I started to slice the steak and started distributing it. I then started on the Salmon and distributed it amongst ourselves. Just as we were about to finish the Wagyu and Salmon, my uncle complained to the manager because the Wagyu wasn't served hot (just slightly warm). Actually, the rice underneath the Wagyu and Salmon (it was a risotto I think) was hotter than the Wagyu and Salmon. The manager then said that they would give us a new one which came out in a couple of minutes. It was déjà vu, a good déjà vu haha.

We then started to devour the Wagyu when my uncle once again complained complained to the manager that the Wagyu still was not hot. It was actually the same as the previous dish (the rice was still hotter). My uncle had a long talk with the manager about the steak's temperature and somewhere in the conversation, he asked if they could refill our Garlic Tuscan Toasts which the manager complied. The manager herself brought a new Garlic Tuscan Toasts and once again apologized for the Wagyu. We barely finished the toasts after that 2nd round of Wagyu and Salmon when the Bill came! I was astonished at our Bill! It was only P648.13 for everything we just ate!

If you look at the picture of the bill above, the manager have canceled the Wagyu and Salmon from the bill (that was 2 dishes). The Venetian Tower was also FREE even if our bill didn't reach P1,500. They also threw in the Garlic Tuscan Toasts for FREE! So in short, we only paid for the Diablo Pasta. Talk about Italianni's Going the Extra Mile campaign. That time, they went around the world for us! That's what I call service!

Italianni's Blogger Event

This was my very first blogger event where I feasted on delectable dishes from Italianni's hosted by Yehey. From appetizers to salads to main course and finally desserts, everything was perfecto! The event was to promote the new campaign of Italianni's which I made a post on.



See the endless plates of food above? Inggit ka no? hehe. Well there was actually so much food left that we had to request for a take out. My uncle and I just ordered an appetizer, a salad and 2 main course, one for him and one for me. To our surprise, Italianni's served more than what we ordered. They served us a couple more dishes such as Baked Mussels, salads, pastas, and even some alcoholic shooters. The dishes kept on coming and coming like it was our last meal on earth.



This was actually exactly what Italinni's was promoting, "Italianni's Goes the Extra Mile." Extra food to satisfy every customer! And I must say I was truly satisfied! Thank You very much Italianni's and Yehey for treating me to lunch and for the Gift Certificates. My uncle and I enjoyed it very much!

Now here is a collaboration of Father's Day Food Promos I discovered. Restaurants from Chowking, Hyatt Hotel, Chili's, Dusit Hotel and, one of my favorite, Su Zhou Dimsum. Caltex Drive the Dream (Online Game)

If you are a regular Caltex customer then don't miss the chance to join Caltex Drive the Dream Promo. What's good about this promo is that you can win in many ways. There is a scratch off portion, raffle coupon, and an online game portion. Get a chance to go to Beijing Olympics or Tours to Olympic Villages. Cash prizes as big as P25,000 are in store for the Game Portion! It's game time!



Promo Mechanics:
  1. For every P300.00 single purchase of Caltex fuels, P100.00 at Star Mart, 1L of lubricants or specialties, customer gets one (1) game card.
  2. The Game Card has two (2) components:
    • Scratch-off portion - customers can win over P25,000,000 worth of instant prizes (such as Limited-edition Olympic souvenir pack worth P15,000.00, Caltex-POC shirt and cap, free fuel or online game access).
    • Raffle Coupon – customers will also have a chance to win in the two (2) raffle draws. They simply have to completely fill-out the raffle coupon with complete name, address, contact number, and affix signature. Drop coupon at participating Caltex stations nationwide.
  3. Customers can claim instant prize from the winning cards at participating Caltex stations nationwide.
  4. When customer wins a free online game access in the scratch-off portion, the customer may log on at www.caltex.com.ph to enter the game site.
  5. To register, customer should fill-out the online registration form and privacy guideline information page.
  6. To enter the game proper, customer must first create his/her own unique user ID and PIN.
  7. To start playing games, customer has to go to the Load Game Password tab and key-in the password printed on the winning game card.
  8. At the end of his/her game, customer will be informed of his/her score and game standing.
  9. Each game card allows the customer to play the game five (5) times.

Caltex Shooting Stars Photo Contest 2008

Calling all Photographers! Join Caltex Shooting Stars Photo Contest 2008 and get a chance to Win iPod Touch (16GB) or a Wii (bundle pack). All you have to do is take a great picture with a Caltex logo in it! The best 12 photographs will be featured in the Caltex 2009 calendar and greeting cards. See the picture below? That photo belongs to one of last years winner and he is a Filipino! Actually, 3 out of 12 winners are Pinoy! Go Pinoy!

Contest Requirements:
  • Open to everyone including, all Chevron employees and contractors.
Contest Mechanics:
  1. Photographs must be in colour.
  2. Digitally enhanced (DI) photos are eligible.
  3. Participants can use either film or digital camera.
  4. Photographs that have been previously published are not eligible.
  5. Participants should hold all rights to the photograph.
  6. A Model Release has to be obtained for photos with recognizable person(s) in it. Please refer to FAQ #6 for details.
  7. All entries have to be accompanied by a completed and signed entry form.
    Entries with missing, incomplete or unsigned entry forms will be disqualified.
  8. Please state the date of the shot and a short photo description (maximum 60 words) for each photograph. This could be a short paragraph on how he or she came across the scene they have chosen to shoot or what the photograph means to the participant.
  9. Winners and selected finalists must provide high resolution digital files of at least 300 dpi, not smaller than 3500 x 2300 pixels, CMYK Tiff or Jpeg format. Judges have the right to disqualify participants who fail to do so.
  10. Photographs can be submitted to Caltex Brand Department or email to CaltexBrand@chevron.com no later than 30 June 2008. Address for mailing:
  11. Photographs must be submitted via email or CD. Email submissions must be no larger than 6MB. It is advised that images are to be shot with the highest quality possible (TIFF or JPEG), to ensure maximum optimization for print output.
  12. For submission via CD, entries should be properly labeled at the back with the following information:
    • Photographer’s full name
    • Short photo description
  13. NOTE: For safety reasons, photography inside the premises of any Caltex station is not allowed. Long-range shots, e.g. from across the road of the station, may still be allowed, but please be careful!
  14. A panel of judges appointed by Chevron (including external professional photographers) will select and shortlist the submissions on the basis of the following criteria:
    1. Relevance, or closeness, to theme
    2. Creativity and uniqueness
    3. Quality of work and richness of colours

Contest Period:
  • All entries have to be submitted by 30 June 2008, GMT +8, Singapore time
Contest Prize:
  • 12 winners will each win an Apple iPod Touch (16GB) or a Wii (bundle pack). Winners will be asked which prize they would prefer.
  • The top 12 winners will have their photographs featured in the 2009 Caltex calendar and E-cards, together with their story. Furthermore these images maybe used in our holiday cards and other Chevron materials.
NOTE: prizes are subjected to the availability in the winner's country. A replacement of similar value will be given instead.

  • You can send as many pictures/entries as you want
  • Caltex logo is everywhere. Just look at the photo above (check out photo tips)
