DOE E-trike Design Contest

The Department of Energy launched the E-trike Design contest to promote the ingenuity of the Filipinos in creating our own version of the so-called "green vehicle". With the theme, "Bright Now! Do Right. Be Bright. Go E-trike!", generate 2D and 3D CAD drawings of the best aesthetic and functional design for the future Philippine E-trike look. Design should showcase a modern tricycle innovation that can hold a maximum of six (6) passengers excluding the driver. The top three (3) winners with the most aesthetic design shall receive P200,000 each. They will also be acknowledged at the DOE website plus have their designs for possible adoption in the agency's E-trike project. Seven finalists will also win P50,000 each as consolation.



Contest Requirements:
  • Open to local citizens 18 years and above whether individual or group, residing in the Philippines
Contest Mechanics:
  1. Fill out the official registration form downloadable at DOE or PIA website
  2. Theme: "Bright Now! Do Right. Be Bright. Go E-trike!". Generate 2D and 3D CAD drawings of the best aesthetic and functional design for the future Philippine E-trike look
  3. Entry Guidelines
    • Showcase modern tricycle innovation
    • Original, new, and have not been used for commercial or demonstration purposes
    • Design parameter should be within six (6) passengers excluding the driver
    • Must be a three (3)-wheeled electric vehicle. See examples at the DOE website
    • Must have either your name, your school or your establishment's name, logo, or similar markings
  4. Enclose your CD and hardcopy (A3 size) in a sealed envelope. Together with your official registration form and duly notarized Oath of Ownership, submit it personally or via courier to:

  6. Judging Criteria
    • 50% Aesthetics/Creativity
    • 20% Originality/Innovation
    • 20% Safety and Functionality (LTO to provide a simplified safety checklist
    • 10% Ergonomics (Ease of passenger entry, accessibility, space requirements, total passenger comfort)
  7. You can only submit one (1) entry
  8. Top ten (10) entries shall be shortlisted by the board of judges

Contest Prize:
  • Top three (3) winners will:
    • Receive P200,000 EACH
    • Be acknowledged at the DOE official website
    • Have their designs for possible adoption in the E-trike project of the DOE

    • Seven (7) entrants will EACH receive P50,000
