APEC Photo Contest 2011
Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is known to be the premier forum for facilitating economic growth, cooperation, trade and investment in the Asia-Pacific region. Every year, they hold a photo contest focused on three (3) relevant economic themes. This year challenges both amateur and professional photographers from 22 APEC member economies to submit entry/ies (maximum of 3) based on their interpretation of any of one or all categories namely: Strengthening Regional Economic Integration and Expanding Trade, Promoting Green Growth, and Advancing Regulatory Convergence and Cooperation. Take your best shot to win Win cash prizes of SG$2,000, SG$1,500, and SG$1,000 respectively plus an opportunity for your work to be featured in APEC publications. A special prize of SG$1,000 will also be given to the photo with the most "likes".
Contest Requirements:
- Open to all amateur and professional photographers
- Must be citizens or permanent residents of APEC member economies (Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, United States, Vietnam)
- Log on to APEC Photo Contest 2011 website and download the application form
- Three (3) theme categories
- Strengthening Regional Economic Integration and Expanding Trade
- Promoting Green Growth
- Advancing Regulatory Convergence and Cooperation
- Take your best shot and submit images that accurately reflect the meaning of any of the three themes, in other words, demonstrating what APEC does in real terms.
- Entry guidelines
- The photo can be taken by any kind of camera.
- Should be at least 2,000 pixels at the longest side of the image
- Must be sent as hi-resolution digital image files in JPEG with minimal compression
- Each image should not exceed 3 MB
- Minimal digital manipulation (i.e. only manipulations such as color enhancement, cropping) is allowed
- Your image cannot be a photomontage or a collage
- Along with your accomplished application form, submit your entry/ies via email to contest@apec.org
- Judging criteria
- Relevance to the contest themes
- Interpretation, creativity and the message of the photo
- Photo composition and the quality of the photo
- A maximum of up to three (3) submission is allowed
