Water is Life Photo Contest '11
Help more than 16 million Filipinos gain access to safe and clean drinking water by 2015 through your lens. Join the Water is Life to Me Photo Contest by taking photos showing the importance of potable water to the rural poor. Make sure to get a subject and have them pose for you. Winners will take home DSLRs and digital cameras.
Contest Requirements:
- Professional and amateur photographers
- Philippine residents (or those who established residency in any part of the Philippines for at least six continuous months as of June 1, 2010) regardless of citizenship
- 18 years old and above as of June 1, 2010
- Theme: Raise public awareness on the importance of bringing safe and clean drinking water to the rural poor. Represent the value and idea of water from the perspective of the subject. This can be done by adhering to the following phrase: Water is Life to Me…(i.e. mothers, local communities, indigenous people (IPs), local leaders, etc.)
- Photo Guidelines
- Printed on 8” x 12” photo paper with no borders
- Electronic files with a resolution of not lower than (3 MP) 2048 x 1536 pixels. Selected entries must submit a higher resolution later
- No identifying marks like watermarks, etc.
- Color or black and white
- Minor alterations for color, contrast, etc. allowed
- Taken within the Philippines from March 2010 to April 2011
- Download and complete Entry Form and Waiver (if photos include minors / children)
- Submit your printed photos, forms, and CD inside a sealed envelope to

- 30% Technical excellence
- 30% Composition/artistic merit
- 40% Overall impact
- 20 Finalists will be chosen for final screening where they will vie for the 12 winning entries.
- 10 Special Jury winners will also be chosen from to 20 finalists and photos shot in the 40 MDGF 1919 municipalities
