Out of 400,000 college students that graduate in the Philippines every year, 40% of applicants fail in their job interviews. It is for this reason that the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) collaborated with the Coordinating Council of Private Educational Associations to produce Book Smart is Not Enough (BSNE), a 7-minute video which aims to promote active awareness regarding the mismatch issue between the academe and industry sector. It points out the importance of developing 3 behavioral competencies necessary to succeed in job interviews - Initiative, Critical Thinking and Communication Skills. In an effort to further promote BSNE, they launched the High Flyers Campaign, a video making contest open to students 16-21 years old. The contest allow students to showcase their creative approach in creating their own “BSNE sequel” as they imparting the message of the advocacy. The winning video will go for a Barkada Trip for five to Boracay with accommodations via Sea Air, Culinary Arts Class from Global City Innovative College, and a roundtrip airfare to Singapore to be given to the school of the winning group.
