Shell Smartest Drivers
Pilipinas Shell invites smart drivers to share their fuel saving tip as they search for the country’s Shell Smartest Drivers who will join Team Philippines in the first-ever Shell Eco-Marathon Asia. To join, drivers need to record a video on their driving techniques on minimizing fuel consumption by completing the phrase “Ang Pinoy na matipid sa gasolina, ____________.” Ten finalists will Win be awarded P10,000 worth of Shell fuel vouchers and get an invite to a fuel economy boot camp. The top two drivers of the camp will also get to attend the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia in Malaysia where they have a chance to Win a fuel efficient car. Nobody goes home empty handed because everyone who joins takes home a premium item from Shell. I have actually submitted my video entitled "Pagulong-gulong" I pointed out that smart drivers check their air pressure at least once a week to increase the life of the tires and save gas. Contest Requirements:
- Legal-aged Filipino drivers with a valid driver’s license
- Must be free on the dates below
- Join the Shell Smartest Driver contest by creating a 30 second video demonstrating or discussing your fuel saving tips
- Video Guidelines
- Complete the catchphrase "Ang Pinoy na matipid sa gasolina, ________________." (whether audible or visible)
- Minimum video duration: 30 seconds; maximum video duration: 1 minute
- Should be in .avi or.mpeg format
- Must not include visuals directly or indirectly related to Pilipinas Shell's competitors and other mnemonic devices such as taglines and slogan
- Log-on to the Shell Smartest Drivers contest page and click the "Join Now" button and fill up registration form
- Upon submitting video entries, it will take 24 to 72 hours for the videos to be live on the website for viewing
- Judging Criteria
- Creativity of video (40 points)
- Practicality of tip (20 points)
- Effectivity of tip (20 points)
- Public votes (20 points)
- 10 Finalists must participate in the fuel economy boot camp where they will have a fuel economy seminar and challenge wherein participants must attempt to get the most mileage out of 1 liter of fuel
- The two most fuel efficient drivers will be declared winners and will be sent to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on July 8 to 11 to compete in the 1L consumer challenge in the Asian Shell Eco-Marathon
