Submit your best recipes and compete against other chefs vying for the grand prize of a P100,000 worth of Kitchen showcase plus a 4-day all-expense-paid trip to Singapore for a culinary training

Contest Requirements:
  • Open to all cooking enthusiasts (housewives, carinderia owners, culinary school students or professional chefs)
  • P1,000 single or accumulated purchase from SM Hypermarket, inclusive of at least one product from the following sponsors:
    • Unilever Foodsolutions, Nestle, San Remo, Purefoods, Selecta, Kraft Miracle Whip, Cheez Whiz, Eden Cheese, Mccormick, Lee Kum Kee, Kikkoman soy sauce, Clara Ole and San Miguel Beer.
Contest Mechanics:
  1. Audition Stage
    • Present the P1,000 single or accumulated receipt together with your cooked dish on the submission day of the specified Hypermarket branch (schedule below)
    • You may submit as many dishes and join in any branch
    • 3 cooks from each branch (total of 60) will be chosen to qualify for the elimination round
    • Judging Criteria
      • 50% Taste
      • 25% Originality
      • 15% Plating/Presentation
      • 10% Affordability
  2. Elimination Round
    • The 60 cooks will be clustered into 3 branch locations where they will compete in a live cook-off at SM Hypermarket (schedule below)
    • Contestants will be given 45 minutes and a P250 budget to shop for ingredients and prepare a dish using a secret ingredient which will be revealed on contest day (Iron Chef style)
    • 4 cooks from each cluster (total of 12) will qualify for the semi-finals
    • Judging Criteria
      • 50% Taste
      • 25% Originality
      • 15% Plating/Presentation
      • 10% Use of budget
  3. Finals
    • Cooks will be grouped into teams of 3 where they will go through 4 rounds. Each group will prepare “themed” dishes (themes will be revealed on contest date) good for 6 persons.
    • Each contestant may bring along 1 assistant
    • SM Hypermarket will provide the cookware and utensils
    • Contestant will be given 1 hour and an unlimited budget to shop for ingredients
    • Contestants will be eliminated as each round progresses until only 2 are left
    • The Finals will be aired over the Asian Food Channel (AFC) and will be hosted by Chef Tristan Encarnacion
    • Judging Criteria (Winnie Cordero and Reggie Aspiras)
      • 50% Taste
      • 25% Originality
      • 15% Plating/Presentation
      • 10% Affordability
