The Red Shoes

Last week, I had the privilege to watch an advance screening of The Red Shoes. It was quite refreshing to see a movie that strikes a different tune to the prosaic Philippine cinema we have today. I bow my head to writer, James Ladioray, and director, Raul Jorolan, for producing a magnificent film worthy of international recognition. It's a film we can definitely be proud about.

Win Movie invites to the Red Shoes

The love team of Marvin Agustin and Nikki Gil really works out well. Lot's of kilig and drama factor. Although it has been a while since Marvin played a major role, he seems he hasn't lost his touch.

What you will like:
  • Emotional roller coaster ride
  • Truly a unique story
  • Good cast
  • All out verbal abuse - not for the kiddies
  • Full of visual metaphors - keep your eyes open!
  • Lots of kilig moments
  • Great cinematography
  • Vibrant and vivid colors
What you wouldn't like:
  • Sound is inconsistent and distracting
  • Flashback is a bit confusing

All in all, I like the film for its unique story, commendable acting and awesome visuals.

Catch The Red Shoes starting March 10, 2010 at cinemas near you.
