IBM Smarter Planet
How can you make our Planet Smarter? Let your pictures do the talking in IBM's Smarter Planet photo contest. Just upload your pictures to Facebook or Shutterfly and ask your friends to vote for your photo to increase your chances of winning. The best photos will be awarded a Nikon DSLR 3000, a Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2, or an Apple iPod Touch (8G). Employees of IBM are encouraged to join
Contest Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older
- Residents of the six ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Malayisa, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam)
- Professional photographers not allowed
- Employees of IBM are encouraged to join
- Theme: “Smarter Planet Through Your Eyes”
- Via Facebook
- Join the IBM ASEAN Smarter Planet Photo Contest Group on Facebook
- Add “Smarter Planet” vision photos using the ‘+ Add Group Photos’ link in the section.
- Provide a caption to your photo and include “(I’m an IBMer)” at the end of the caption if you are an IBMer. Tag one of the IBM Smarter Planet visions to your photo by clicking on your photo. For example: If your photo is on buildings, tag “Smarter Building” to your photo.
- Get all your friends to write witty comments on your photo or simply vote for your photo by clicking the “Like” link below the photo

- Log on to IBM Shutterfly page http://ibmsmarterplanet.shutterfly.com
- Submit your photo in one of the Smarter Planet visions photo album in the “Pictures” section. For example: If your photo is on river or sea, save your photo under “Smarter Water” album
- Remember to write a short description of your photo and include “(I’m an IBMer)” at the end of your description if you are an IBMer when uploading your photograph.
- Get all your friends to write witty comments on your photo or simply vote for your photo by clicking the “Like” link below the photo
- Only digital photos will be considered and should be at least 300 dpi in JPEG or TIFF format. A minimum 4” x 6” size is required
- Judging Criteria
- 80% creativity and originality
- 15% Facebook/Shutterfly user comments/votes
- 5% use of IBM in the picture

- Rules about the "IBMer" and "Friends of IBM" are a bit confusing. I think the "IBMer" are employees of IBM although I'm not sure if it includes IBM call centers. UPDATE: Just confirmed that IBMer refers to those employed by IBM

- Submission of an entry constitutes consent and agreement of the entrant and any person that is recognizable from the photo(s) that all rights in and to the photo(s) shall be assigned and shall belong to IBM
