Manila Ocean Park is hoping to find a band through their BandStand contest. If your band has what it takes to be Manila Ocean Park's band, then make sure you go to the audition dates. The winning band takes home P100,000 in CASH and a recording contract with one of Manila’s top record labels while the 2nd and 3rd takes home P50k and P25k in CASH respectively



Contest Requirements:

• Filipino or of Filipino descent and 15 to 30 years of age
• Amateur and professional bands are entitled to join the competition. Those with prior or existing contracts under a record label are not qualified to join
• Minimum of five (5) and maximum of seven (7) members
• Band members can be all-male, all-female or a mix of male & female
• Loud hardcore music is not allowed

Contest Mechanics:

1. Download registration form and submit to Manila Ocean Park (or I think you could fax or email it call them up to be sure)
   
2. Attend the audition dates and perform cover songs from different genres and an original composition for the Manila Ocean Park song/jingle
   
3. Judging Criteria
• 50% - over all performance (vocals & rhythm section)
  
• 25% - Creativity (packaging & performance style)
  
• 25% - audience votes
4. Eighteen (18) bands will compete in the elimination round. Only six bands will advance to the semi-final round and three (3) bands in the Grand Finals.

Contest Period: Audition Date - May 26 & 28, 2009 (1pm - 5pm)

Contest Prize:

• Grand Prize – P100,000 in cash
• P100,000 worth of gig contract with the Manila Ocean Park
• PLUS a recording contract with one of Manila’s top record labels
• Second Place – P50,000 in cash
• Third Place – P25,000 in cash
