What do you think would happen to an OFW that goes home for good without any savings or investments? Show it through a photo in Oops! You're Back to square Juan Photo Contest. US CASH prize and laptops awaits the most creative photos. Winning photos will also be showcased at various government agencies for departing workers to see.





Contest Requirements:
  • Filipino Citizen residing anywhere in the world
Contest Mechanics:
  1. Photo Theme: what an OFW would be like if he/she fails or neglect to prepare for his eventual return to the Philippines
    • Photo must deliver a clear message to OFWs about what it is like to be home for good but with no savings or investments at all
  2. Photo Requirements
    • JPEG form, square format, and black and white
    • 600 x 600 pixels @ 300 dpi for online voting
    • 2000 x 2000 pixels @ 300 dpi for printing (for 50 finalists)
    • Brief profile of photographer
    • Unedited original photo
    • Digital darkroom adjustments/enhancement must be minor and acceptable (quite vague)
    • Multiple exposures are acceptable with the use of a digital camera
    • No frame, copyright, or watermark
  3. Maximum of three (3) entries per contestant
  4. Judging Criteria (percentage not stated)
    • Innovation and Creativity
    • Message
    • Image Quality

Contest Period: Deadline of submission is on or before April 30, 2009

Contest Prize:
  • 1st Place - $500 + laptop + certificate
  • 2nd Place - $400 + certificate
  • 3rd Place - $300 + certificate
  • Ambassador’s Choice - $200 + certificate
Winning entries with the photographer’s name will be displayed at the Philippine embassy, Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and Philippine Overseas Employment Office (POEA) in Manila for departing workers to see when they attend the pre-departure orientation seminar (PDOS).
