Nikon International Photo Contest
Nikon calls all professional or amateur photographers for the Nikon Photo Contest International 2008-2009. This year's theme: "At the heart of the image" has 2 categories - "Free subject" and "My Planet". Lots of Nikon camera products are up for grabs for the Winners. In the last 2006-2007 contest, there was no winning photo from the Philippines. I just hope this year, we could show these guys how good Filipinos are in taking winning photographs.Contest Requirements:
- Open to all photographers, professional or amateur, from any part of the world
- "All entrants, particularly minors (those under the age of 18 in many jurisdictions), are responsible for ensuring their submission is in compliance with the legal requirements of their country"
- Theme is: "At the heart of the image" (Freely express the emotions that are true to your heart through images)
- 2 categories
- Free subject: Works that convey the photographer’s unique perspective and creativity.
- My Planet: Works that express your feelings about your world, whether that involves the environment, scenes from your daily life, or people and other things that stir your passions.
- NOTE: Each entrant may enter two JPEG images into each category
- Fill out the online entry form and submit it along with the JPEG images
- Entrants will not be notified of receipt of their entries
- Image/photo requirements
- Maximum size per JPEG image: 10MB
- If the image is larger than the size mentioned above, please compress the file to a maximum of 10MB before submitting
- File Format: JPEG only
- sRGB will be applied as the standard color space during the judging process
- Winners may later be requested to submit JPEG images with higher resolution for winning works, for such purposes as the production of publications and exhibitions related to the contest

Contest Period: September 1 - November 30, 2008
Contest Prize:
- Grand Prize - most outstanding photograph out of all the entries, regardless of category
- NIKKOR 75th Anniversary Award - most outstanding photograph displaying an exceptional use of the lens and its functions, regardless of category
- 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes - 16 winners in each category
- Emerging Talent Award - photographers under the age of 30 (born on or after January 1st, 1979) for photographs which are outstanding, yet have not been awarded a Grand, NIKKOR 75th Anniversary, 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize. Such photographs will be selected for their ability to communicate a fresh perspective, demonstrate high-level expressive power and convey the energy of youth.
