Filipino-Chinese Culture Photography Competition
Calling all amateur and professional photographers. Submission of entries for the Filipino-Chinese Culture Photography Competition is now open. Take a photo capturing the rich combination of the life, culture, and tradition of the Filipino-Chinese Community. Show how they are one connected group. Choose which category you belong to: Professional or Amateur. Log on to the contest FB page, fill out the entry form and upload your photo. Make sure it has a "Photo Title" and Photo Caption". The caption must indicate the place where the image was taken and must have a short description not more than 50 words of what the photo is about. You can join in one (1) category only with a maximum of two (2) submitted entries. Prizes at stake are P70,000, P40,000 and P20,000 CASH + Plaque for the Professional Category while P40,000, P20,000 and P15,000 CASH Prizes + Plaque await the winners in the Amateur Category. Chinese Gifts and Plaque will also be awarded to the 4th-10th Place winners in both categories.
Contest Requirements:
- Open to local professional and amateur photographers, 18 years old and above
- Note: Foreign nationals are allowed to join provided that a valid passport and Philippine address during the contest period should be presented
- Two (2) Categories:
- Professional - Photos taken by professional photographers who, in the past 6 months, have been paid for photographic services and have been selling images or photos either full time or part time
- Amateur - Photos taken by those who do not fall under the Professional Category
- Entry Guidelines:
- Take a photo showing the rich combination of Filipino-Chinese culture. Show how the Filipinos and Chinese are one connected community
- Photo must be your original material
- Photo must be in color
- Must be in JPG format
- Must be in landscape, at least 11 inches in size on one side, at least 300 dpi in resolution, and 1600 pixels on the longer side
- Photo must have a "Photo Title" and Photo Caption". The caption must indicate the place where the image was taken and must have a short description not more than 50 words of what the photo is about
- Plain borders are allowed and will be included in the size requirement
- Must not be a composite, i.e., having more than one image in a photo or layers
- Image manipulation is allowed
- Photos must note have been submitted in any local or international photography contest
- Log on to and like the Connected Community: A Filipino-Chinese Photography Contest Facebook Page. Fill out the entry form for the Professional or Amateur Category before uploading your photo
- You can join in one (1) category only
- You are allowed to submit a maximum of two (2) entries only
- Substitution of entries is not allowed
- All entries will be screened by a screening committee from the Camera Club of the Philippines
- Shortlisted entries will be submitted to the judging committee for final judging
- Shortlisted entries will be posted individually Connected Community: A Filipino-Chinese Photography Contest to determine the special prize winner via the most number of Likes and Shares
- Venue and date for the awarding ceremony to be finalized
- You can only win once in the entire contest duration. If you are chosen as one of the Top Winners, you will get the bigger prize
- The decision of the judges is final and not appealable
