Calling all movie buffs! Finally, the most awaited 2015 Korean Film Festival is here! Running on this year's theme, "Strings of Affinity," the featured films will focus on the different types of relationships and connections between families, friends, lovers, and even foes. Completing the roster are Ms. Granny, Hope, Duresori: Voice of the East, Marriage Blue, Cold Eyes, The Front Line and The Thieves. Be ready to hit SM Lanang Premier, SM City Iloilo, SM City Cebu and SM Megamall on the scheduled movie dates. As always, admission is FREE. But since the movie tickets will be given upon entrance to the cinema, you might as well be there two hours early to guarantee your seat. Films will all come with subtitles and age ratings will be strictly enforced.

Synopsis:
Miss Granny
  • A 74-year-old widow OH Mal-Soon (Na Moon-hee is about to be sent into a retirement home by her son after causing her daughter-in-law to be hospitalized. Dismayed by her son’s decision, Mal-Soon decides to have her “funeral portrait” taken at a mysterious photo studio. After having her photo taken, she was dumbfounded to see herself transformed into her 20-year-old self (Shim Eun-Kyung). With no one recognizing her, Mal-soon decides to make the most out of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. She renames herself OH Doo-ri and decides to pursue her dream of becoming a singer together with her grandson Ji-ha who doesn’t realize that she is his grandmother.
Hope
  • Based on a true story, the film tells the story of a family coping up with the tragic incident that happened to their daughter. A young girl named So-won (Lee Re) was on her way to school when she was sexually assaulted and nearly beaten to death by a drunken old stranger. As a result of the incident, she suffered from both physical injuries and severe emotional trauma. So-won even refuses to see or talk to her father, Dong-hoon (Sol Kyung-gu) due to the incident. Dong-hoon, who is very concern of her daughter’s recovery, found a way to reconnect with her daughter by hiding beneath the costume of Sowon’s favorite cartoon character “CoCoMong.” Thanks to the continuous support of her family and loved ones, So-won’s emotional condition gradually improves. As they continue to recover on the incident while pursuing justice, the family also begins to strengthen their relationship.
Duresori: Voice of the East
  • Shot in documentary style, the film is based on a true story of Seul-Gi and Ah-Reum who are third year students at the National High School of the Traditional Arts. Seul-Gi majors in Korean traditional music, Pansori and Ah-Reum majors in Gyeonggi Folk Music. During their final summer, while the girls are stressing over the upcoming college entrance exam, they are forced to join the school choir in order to fill the remaining requirement. The choir consists of students from the special summer school class. A conflict also arises between Ms. Ham, their instructor who majored in western music, and the students, who are majors in traditional Korean music. However, as Ms. Ham and the students begin to grow interest in each musical forms, the school decide to cancel the class’s annual summer concert.
Marriage Blue
  • A Romantic comedy film, Marriage Blue tells of the misadventures of four engaged couples who are having second thoughts about getting married. Tae-Kyu (Kim Kang-Woo) is a coach for a minor league team who is about to be married to his girlfriend Joo-Young (Kim Hyo-Jin). After discovering that Joo-Young is formerly married, Tae-Kyu feels betrayed and jealous making him think twice about their marriage. So-Mi (Lee Yeon-Hee), a nail artist and her fiancé Chef Won-Cheol (2PM’s OK TaecYeon) have been together for seven years and will soon be getting married. The two have different views about their marriage, for Won-Cheol thinks of their marriage only as a living arrangement. A few days before their wedding date So-Mi travels to Jeju Island for a nail art competition. She meets the tour guide and web comic writer Kyung-soo (Joo Ji-Hoon) and falls for him. Gun-Ho (Ma Dong-Seok) is about to marry Vika (Guzal Tursunova) from Uzbekistan. However, Gun-Ho is afflicted with impotency caused by stress. Being very beautiful and younger, Gun-Ho thinks that Vika is only marrying him to obtain Korean citizenship. Dae-Bok (Lee Hee-Joon) is dating the wedding planner Yi-Ra (Goh Joon-Hee). During a baseball game, Yi-Ra tells him that she is pregnant and Dae-Bok immediately proposes. While they are in the midst of their wedding preparation, they keep on arguing constantly. Dae-Bok is starting to think that their marriage will not last long because of Yi-Ra’s attitude so he tries to change her mind about the marriage.
Cold Eyes
  • Han Hyo-Joo plays the role of Yoon-Joo, a newly accepted member of the surveillance team in the police department. Together with the team’s leader Detective Hwang (Sol Kyung-Gu), they are tasked to take down James' (Jung Woo-Sung) criminal group who just robbed a bank. However, the surveillance team are having a hard time to track down the robbers due to their masks and efficiency during the heist. As the team continue their search, James gets a new order from a mysterious broker. While the surveillance team goes after James, the mysterious broker also plans to take out James.
The Front Line
  • Set in the 1950s, before the ceasefire agreement between the two Koreas, KANG Eun-pyo (SHIN Ha-kyun) is sent to join the Alligator Company at Aerok Hill to investigate the suspicious death of their commander. The commander was found to be killed with a bullet belonging to the South Korean Army. Upon arriving at Aerok Hill he is surprised to see his old friend Kim Soo-hyuk (played by Go Soo), who was missing and presumed dead, alive and an officer of the Alligator Company. Soo-Hyuk is now a ruthless officer and does not always follow commands from the South Korean army. The situation within the Alligator Company raises many questions in the eyes of Eun-Pyo: South Korean soldiers wear North Korean uniforms inside due to the cold weather; young officer leads troops as a captain; the sudden reappearance of Soo-hyuk; and a secret communication box wherein North and South Korean soldiers can exchange letters and presents for each other.
The Thieves
  • A group of South Korean thieves led by Popie (Lee Jung-jae) and Hong Kong thieves are commissioned by the master thief Macao Park (Kim Yoon-seok) to steal the diamond “Tear of Sun” in Macau. The diamond is currently in the possession of Madame Tiffany (Yeh Soo-jung), the Japanese mistress of the ruthless criminal Wei Hong. Macao Park tells the two groups that he is planning to sell the diamond for $20 million dollars. Having their own special skills in stealing, the two teams work together in the biggest heist of their lives, but little do they know that the 10 thieves all have their own agendas.
