Asia Young Designer Award
If you didn't get lucky in the previous competition, your design might be recognized in this year's Asia Young Designer Award. Focusing on the theme "Be Bold. Be Free. Be You.", unleash your creativity and impress the judges with your ideas as you explore, propel and exceed the boundaries of design. Choose which category you belong to: Interior Design or Architecture. Work on your presentation boards and create a unique, brave and well-though-out design that carries commercial value and at the same time cautious of the welfare of its surrounding community. Download the entry kit online, attach it to your entry before submitting via mail. The Gold winners in both categories will each receive P50,000 CASH + 6 months internship at LOR CALMA & PARTNER (for Interior Design) and AIDEA, Inc. (for Architecture) + Once-in-a-lifetime learning program overseas + Opportunity to represent the Philippines in the Regional AYDA 2016 Competition with a USD1,000 cash prize. In the same way, P30,000 CASH + Plaque of Appreciation will be awarded to the Silver winners. There are also eight (8) finalists who will each receive P10,000 CASH. Other prizes also include P5,000 (Best Color Design and Best Green Innovation), P10,000 (Best College/University), and P10,000 + P10,000 Paint Voucher (Best Supporting College/University and Gold: Best College/University).
Contest Requirements:
- Two (2) Categories
- Interior Design Category - 3rd Year to 4th Year College Students
- Architecture Category - 3rd Year to 5th Year College Students
- Must be enrolled in an educational institution majoring in interior design or architecture and is a member to AYDA Partner Organization (PIID/CIDE & UAP/CODHASP)
- Must have a valid passport

- Project Layout Size
- Interior Design Category
- Maximum of 30,000 square feet or 2,787 square meters
- Architecture Category
- Maximum of 10 acres or 4 hectares
- Project Requirements
- Colour chip and product name
- Students must use Nippon Paint products and colours in the project
- Green elements
- Students must state clearly what the eco-friendly products are, as well as the elements, used in the project
- Colours scheme
- Justify why the colours were chosen
- Name and Theme/Concept
- All projects must be started with the project title and theme/concept
- Presentation board (A2 size) – minimum 3 boards and maximum 4 boards to be submitted based on the soft copies
- Board 1 must show:
- Existing site photo(s)
- Property/site developer
- Floor plan(s),
- Elevation(s)
- Furniture layout plan(s)
- Site analysis
- Board 2, 3, 4 must show:
- 3D perspectives together with Nippon Paint colour chips and codes
- Presentation Boards must be designed in vertical layout format
- CD/DVD digital copy of the project - the design of the A2 board must be saved in a folder as “Presentation Board” with the file name as "Your Name – Board 1" and the design statement
- Design statement should not be more than 1,000 words in a Microsoft Word file format
- Provide a recent passport size photo (formal attire in white background) in JPEG format
- All required image files must be in 300dpi in JPEG format only
- The individual perspective in JPEG format, in high resolution (300dpi), minimum A4 size must be saved in a folder entitled "Perspective". The file names of the JPEG shall be saved in the format as "area"
- Example: Living room/Lobby
- All colours used in the project must be from the Nippon Paint's product range
- All colours used in the design must be clearly illustrated with the Nippon Paint's colour name, colour code and product range. Download the colour chips on youngdesigneraward.ph
- Label all areas on the floor plan
- Perspective in A2, boards number 2, 3 and 4 must be in A3, A4 or A5 sizes to be pasted on the board
- Attach the entry form as a cover page when submitting the entry in the CD/DVD submission
- Do not included your profile and school name on the presentation board to ensure the anonymous judgement of the competition

- You may submit only one (1) entry in the entire contest duration
- Shortlisted candidates will be notified to present an oral presentation as a final judging requirement
- Winners will bear all the expenses for travel costs and other incidentals relating to their appearance at the launch, oral representation and award ceremony
- Judges' decisions are final
- Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable for cash or credit. The organizer reserves the right to subsitute the top prize with another product of similar retail value without prior notice
