Beef Gyudon Eating Contest '13
Great news! The Yoshinoya Beef Gyudon Eating Contest is back! For three (3) years, the restaurant has been known to challenge their customers and other media personnel in its eat all you can match. And with that, it has become the store's mileage from other similar Japanese restaurants in the country. If you think you have the stomach and energy to consume the most number of regular beef bowls in 5 minutes, then rush to any Yoshinoya store on weekdays of the promo period and buy a Yoshinoya Gyudon meal. Fill out a registration form and a Health & Release waiver before you start the challenge. Win the dare of the day to move on to the weekly round. All those who qualify in the weekly challenge will compete in the Grand Finals along with other media personnel. You will each be given 10 regular beef bowls to consume within 15 minutes. Finish as many bowls as you can for a chance to bag P100,000, P50,000, or P25,000 respectively.
Contest Requirements:
- Open to all males and females who are 18 years old and above
- A purchase of the Yoshinoya Gyudon meal
- Note: Take-out, deliveries, bulk orders are not included
- Visit any Yoshinoya store on weekdays of the promo period and buy a Yoshinoya Gyudon meal
- Fill out a registration form and a Health and Release waiver before you start eating
- Entry Guidelines
- Only Yoshinoya napkins & standard Yoshinoya condiments (red ginger & Kikkoman) will be allowed to be put on the table and used by the customer
- Only water provided by Yoshinoya is allowed during the contest proper
- Only the prescribed timer in Yoshinoya stores will be used in timing the customer
- You should not be holding nor touching the spoon, fork or chopsticks before the timer starts
- You should turn over empty bowl before starting the next bowl. All left over grains in all bowls will be weighed along with the unfinished bowl
- A designated Yoshinoya crew records the number of bowls consumed by the top 1 and 2 contestants who eats the most number of bowls and weighs the amount of leftover food
- The customer who finishes the most number of bowls in 5 minutes wins the challenge of the day and will move on to the weekly challenge
- There will be thirty-two (32) finalists (28 from all 7 Yoshinoya branches & 4 media personnel) who will compete in the grand finals. Each will be given 10 regular beef bowls to consume within 15 minutes
- In case of a tie in the stores, the store manager shall call upon the contestants who tied for a re-match
- You can join as many times as you want but you should complete all requirements on the application form for every trial
