Gran Prix Hotel and Suites Manila is located at the heart of Manila in Tesoro Building on A. Mabini Street. It's just a few minutes away from Hyatt Hotel and 2 blocks away from Robinsons Place Manila. The location is accessible by Taxi but you can also take a jeep coming from Taft via Pedro Gil and just walk less than 5 minutes. If you bring a car, you can park at the back of the building. There are a couple of vacant parking slots which are secured by a steel gate just beside the guard near the door. You can rest assure that your car is safe and sound while you sleep
Inside, you see the hotel logo which obviously connotes what the name is.
I was greeted by a smiles from the hospitable staff. Although the hotel is somewhat small, I must say that there is more than enough staff that goes around to deliver any requests from the guests.
All the hallways are well lit and clean. Lighting all around is yellow orange which gives out that feeling of warmth and relaxation.
All of the doors are equipped with RFID card locks which makes it easy for entry especially after a good drink or two around the Malate area. There are also security cameras near the stairwell and elevator for 24/7 surveillance
The main hall of each floor is adorned with Filipino style furniture and abstract painting. Great for a quick chat with a visitor or friend.
Here are a few examples of a Deluxe Rooms. Some of the beds are double sized so you can actually fit 4 people in 1 room. You just have to ask the reservation officer for the rooms with the bigger bed. Deluxe Rooms are P2,000 - P2,200 a night.
All rooms have a flat screen TV, split type air conditioning, hot & cold shower. There are also a safety deposit box in some of the rooms. FREE wi-fi is available in all rooms.
Most of the rooms don't have a window because only the rooms facing in front of the street have windows. If you like it dark, you won't have a problem with sleeping all through the night and day.
Towels and toiletries such as shampoo, soap, and toothbrush are provided for.
Bathrooms are pretty decent. Hot water is always available.
If you want a bigger room, you can go for the Suite. This will set you back P2,600 per night. Expect a sleeping in regular mattress, pillows and sheets. What is important is that it's clean. If you need an extra bed, you can pay P500 per bed/person
The restaurant is located at the top floor of the building. Although Namayan is a Filipino restaurant as shown on the signage, they also serve other Asian and Western food.
There's a conference at the end for meetings and parties and an open area in the center.
Namayan is a great hangout place for drinking and eating pulutan. It's open to the public and in-house guests
For entertainment, you can sing some tunes on their videoke machine. Just ask the waiter to assist you and they would happily oblige.
All packages (except the Easy Bed room worth P800) includes breakfast for 2.
You can only avail Filipino breakfast with the package but American breakfast is also available in the menu.
